QC Manager (High Purity / Cleanroom / High-Tech Manufacturing)

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and quality control functions to ensure products and processes meet industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance. This role is especially focused on environments involving high purity welding, cleanroom operations, and high-tech industries such as data centers, semiconductor manufacturing, or advanced fabrication.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems, procedures, and standards
  • Lead inspection and testing activities for high purity welding, tubing, and fabrication processes
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, AWS, and customer-specific requirements)
  • Oversee cleanroom quality protocols, including contamination control and documentation practices
  • Manage and mentor QC inspectors, technicians, and support staff
  • Review and approve weld documentation, including WPS/PQRs and welder qualifications
  • Conduct audits (internal and external) and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and project management teams to resolve quality issues
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, non-conformances, and quality metrics
  • Support customer audits and interface directly with clients on quality-related matters
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis

 

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in quality control/assurance in high-tech or regulated environments
  • Hands-on experience with high purity welding (e.g., orbital welding, stainless steel tubing systems)
  • Experience working in cleanroom environments (ISO Class environments )
  • Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards (ASME, AWS, SEMI, etc.)
  • Familiarity with data center, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or similar high-tech industries
  • Experience with inspection tools and methods (visual, borescope, pressure testing, etc.)
  • Proven leadership and team management experience

 

Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CWI (Certified Welding Inspector), CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), or Six Sigma
  • Experience with ultra-high purity (UHP) systems and gas delivery systems
  • Knowledge of documentation systems and quality management software (QMS)
  • Experience supporting mission-critical environments (e.g., data centers)
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 or similar quality standards
