Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support a large-scale data center construction project in Waco, Texas. This role will be responsible for cost management, quantity take-offs, contract administration, change management, and overall commercial support throughout the project lifecycle.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n

    \n
  • Prepare and manage detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
  • \n

  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure accurate scope quantification.
  • \n

  • Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts, and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • \n

  • Evaluate subcontractor bids, pricing proposals, and contractual agreements.
  • \n

  • Manage change orders, variations, claims, and cost impacts associated with project changes.
  • \n

  • Track project progress and provide regular cost reporting to project stakeholders.
  • \n

  • Support procurement activities and assist with subcontract administration.
  • \n

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and schedule requirements.
  • \n

  • Collaborate closely with project managers, construction managers, engineers, and contractors.
  • \n

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly commercial reports and final account settlements.
  • \n

  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, project controls processes, and company procedures.
  • \n

Required Qualifications

\n

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field .
  • \n

  • 5+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Cost Engineer, Commercial Manager, or similar role within large-scale construction projects.
  • \n

  • Experience supporting complex industrial, mission-critical, data center, semiconductor, power, energy, or large commercial construction projects.
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, change management, and cost controls.
  • \n

  • Experience with quantity take-offs, estimating, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • \n

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project controls/cost management software.
  • \n

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n

  • Ability to work onsite in the Waco, Texas area.
  • \n

Qualifications

\n

\n

    \n
  • Previous data center construction experience.
  • \n

  • Experience working in fast-paced EPC, general contractor, or owner's representative environments.
  • \n

  • Familiarity with FIDIC, NEC, or major construction contract frameworks.
  • \n

  • Professional certifications such as RICS, CCP, CEP, or equivalent.
  • \n
