Role Overview

The Quantity Surveyor will provide comprehensive support to on-site project teams, ensuring contractual compliance, financial integrity, and successful project delivery across multiple projects in the IT, telecommunications, and data centre sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide robust support to project teams, ensuring adherence to contractual terms and financial integrity.
  • Monitor project costs against budget, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to maintain profitability.
  • Manage and assess variations and scope changes; prepare and submit cost proposals and claims accurately and promptly.
  • Support monthly valuations, cost/value reconciliations, and financial forecasts for stakeholders.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities, supporting strategic decisions to protect the business.
  • Administer main contracts and subcontracts in line with legal and company procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Sales, Commercial, Finance, Design & Engineering, Legal) and external stakeholders (clients, consultants, subcontractors) to ensure project success.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain sound commercial and business practices.
  • Negotiate contract pricing with suppliers when required.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Communicate relevant commercial and procedural information to senior management.
  • Manage special projects as required.
  • Interpret contract terms to substantiate claims, safeguarding margins while enhancing profitability through effective management of variations.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Experience in Telecommunications Infrastructure Cabling, ICT, or Security deployments.
  • Experience delivering Hyperscale Data Centre projects.
  • Ability to produce and deliver client presentations clearly and confidently.
  • Ability to absorb and manage new services and applications.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and production activities simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to develop, review, and enhance project delivery documentation.
  • Experience delivering services under formal subcontracts.
  • Experience handling commercial negotiations with Main Contractors across EMEA.
  • Essential Knowledge & Qualifications
  • Extensive project management experience.
  • Thorough experience working in IT environments.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of project delivery processes and contract scopes/deliverables.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Understanding of PRINCE2 standards.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CTPM, PRINCE2, BICSI, ITIL Foundation, MSP.
