A leading global technology company is seeking an experienced Real Estate Counsel to support large-scale data center and commercial property development projects across the EMEA region. This is a contract position, for 30-40 hours per week, with an initial term of 6-12 months.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams, providing high-impact legal support in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled transactional attorney with deep real estate experience, capable of working independently and collaboratively to deliver pragmatic, commercial legal guidance that supports strategic expansion and efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on complex real estate and construction projects, including commercial leasing, acquisitions, development, and related transactions.
  • Provide business-focused, solutions-oriented legal advice to internal clients and project stakeholders.
  • Partner with internal teams and external counsel to negotiate, draft, and manage real estate agreements and documentation.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel as needed in jurisdictions outside of licensure, ensuring cost-effective, high-quality support.
  • Proactively identify legal and operational risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently with business clients, anticipating needs and providing timely updates.
  • Support the development and implementation of scalable processes that streamline real estate legal workflows.

Qualifications

  • Law degree and active license to practice in the UK, Ireland, or EU (for EMEA).
  • 8+ years of real estate legal experience, including significant exposure to commercial leasing, acquisitions, development, and construction.
  • Experience working in or advising large multinational companies on real estate and infrastructure projects.
  • Prior experience with top law firms or in-house legal departments .
  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to translate legal complexity into clear business guidance.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Proficiency with modern legal technology tools (e.g., AI-assisted drafting, Power BI dashboards, SharePoint, and standard Microsoft 365 applications).
