Real Estate Credit Analyst

Job Description:

The Analyst candidate will be based in the Santa Monica office and will assist with reviewing, underwriting and closing commercial real estate loans.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and screen commercial real estate financing opportunities including but not limited to property, financial, market and legal due diligence matters.
  • Create detailed financial analyses of commercial real estate financing opportunities using Excel and Argus.
  • Prepare internal investment memoranda.
  • Presents findings to loan committee and makes lending recommendations based on findings.
  • Participate in the ongoing asset management and servicing of all investments and act as resource for Asset Management and Servicing personnel post-closing.

Job Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field .
  • Experience: 1-3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Must have the ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to create models from scratch. Argus experience a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to present clear and precise recommendations.
  • An understanding of financial modeling including discounted cash flows, IRR calculation and scenario analysis.
  • Must understand basic capital markets principles including interest rate calculations and basic bond math.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
