Position Summary
The EHS & Compliance Manager will build and lead a scalable, enterprise-level Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program across a growing portfolio of complex, mission-critical construction projects.
Reporting to senior operational leadership, this role operates at the corporate level and is responsible for establishing governance, standards, and oversight to ensure consistent, compliant, and defensible EHS performance across all project sites.
This position is suited for a senior EHS leader with deep expertise in construction safety, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management, and a proven ability to scale programs in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
EHS Program Strategy & Governance
- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance the corporate EHS management system, policies, and standards
- Establish enterprise-wide safety frameworks and compliance practices across all construction sites
- Drive a proactive, risk-based approach to safety and regulatory compliance across the portfolio
Leadership & Functional Oversight
- Lead, mentor, and provide strategic direction to regional safety leaders and site-level EHS personnel
- Define operating standards, cadence, and accountability measures across the EHS function
- Foster a culture of safety, ownership, consistency, and continuous improvement
Reporting & Risk Management
- Own corporate-level EHS reporting, including development and tracking of key performance indicators
- Deliver consolidated safety performance data, risk trends, and actionable insights to executive leadership
- Analyze portfolio-wide trends and implement strategies to reduce incidents and strengthen compliance outcomes
Regulatory Compliance & External Engagement
- Serve as the primary corporate liaison with regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, EPA, and applicable authorities)
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries with accuracy and professionalism
Incident Response & Continuous Improvement
- Lead investigations into significant incidents and ensure thorough root cause analysis
- Oversee implementation of corrective and preventive actions across all project sites
- Institutionalize lessons learned and integrate them into standards, training, and ongoing program enhancements
Requirements (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
- 15+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience, preferably within construction, infrastructure, or industrial environments
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent advanced certification
- Demonstrated experience leading EHS programs across multiple sites or large-scale projects
- Experience building or scaling enterprise EHS programs in high-growth environments
- Strong expertise in corporate EHS governance, enterprise risk management, and executive-level reporting
- Familiarity with international standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Experience supporting large, complex construction or infrastructure programs
Work Environment
This role is remote, with a preference for candidates based in or near the Dallas–Fort Worth area to support periodic in-person collaboration. Travel requirements will vary based on project and operational needs.
The position requires regular engagement with executive leadership, field teams, project stakeholders, and regulatory agencies. Success in this role requires the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment characterized by scale, complexity, and evolving priorities.
