Responsibilities
The Safety Professional in the North Jersey area supports specific project needs by ensuring best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and helping promote a strong culture of safety throughout all phases of construction. This role will support large-scale mission critical/data center and heavy electrical construction projects with a focus on energized work, commissioning activities, and critical systems oversight.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily construction safety activities to ensure OSHA compliance and client safety expectations are met
- Conduct daily audits, site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
- Support energized electrical work activities including LOTO, temporary power, switchgear, commissioning, and startup operations
- Monitor high-risk work including fall protection, rigging, steel erection, excavation, confined space, and MEWP operations
- Assist with incident investigations, corrective actions, and safety documentation/reporting
- Review JHAs, permits, and energized work plans to ensure safe execution of work
- Work closely with field supervision, subcontractors, and project teams to maintain a proactive safety culture
Qualifications
- OSHA 30 required; OSHA 510 strongly
- Experience supporting data center, mission critical, heavy industrial, or heavy electrical construction projects
- Strong understanding of LOTO, NFPA 70E, arc flash, and energized electrical safety practices
- Experience with commissioning/startup activities
- CPR/First Aid certified
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital reporting platforms such as Procore
- Excellent verbal and written skills
