Senior Business Development Manager - Commercial Moving

Job DescriptionJob Description

This is a senior, home-based field sales role for an experienced seller who owns the full cycle in commercial and facility relocation: finding the opportunity, walking the site, building the first-pass scope and estimate, presenting the quote, and closing the work. Bormann operations approves feasibility, margin, and final pricing before the quote goes to the customer. We're especially interested in someone who can bring commercial-moving and facility relationships lawfully, so revenue starts early.

What You Will Do

  • Originate new business in commercial and facility moving, office and multi-floor relocations, laboratory and healthcare moves, data center and IT equipment moves, and warehouse and records moves across New England.
  • Conduct site surveys and pre-move planning: document scope, building and elevator access, timing and downtime windows, furniture and systems (FF&E), IT, and special-handling needs.
  • Build the first-pass scope and estimate with our estimating and operations teams, then present, negotiate, and close, including phased and after-hours work.
  • Manage the handoff to project management and grow repeat and cross-sell business, including rigging and storage where it fits.
  • Keep your pipeline and forecast current in our CRM.

What You Bring

  • Existing commercial moving or facility relationships to immediately drive revenue from office moving, facility/corporate relocation, or workplace/facility services.
  • Proven sales and first-pass scoping or estimating capability in commercial or facility moves. Industrial rigging or machinery-moving experience is a plus, not required.
  • Five or more years of outside sales with a record of hitting a personal revenue number in a project-based sale.
  • The ability to read a site and turn the scope into a sound first-pass estimate.
  • Self-discipline to succeed in a home-based field role, plus a valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently to customer and job sites.

Compensation and Location

  • $50,000 to $90,000 base salary, based on demonstrated experience and market evidence.
  • Uncapped commission on credited realized gross profit, with target total cash of approximately $135,000 to $195,000 at plan and meaningful upside for exceptional performance above $225,000.
  • A defined ramp arrangement, mileage reimbursement or vehicle allowance, phone, laptop, and company benefits.
  • Home-based anywhere in New England, with frequent travel to customer and job sites and periodic visits to Hudson, NH.
