Senior Civil Engineer\n\nLocation: Cambridge\n\nSalary: £45,000-£55,000 + Benefits\n\nWe are working on behalf of a respected, multi-disciplinary consultancy to source an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join their growing Civil Engineering team. This is a key strategic hire offering the opportunity to contribute to a broad portfolio of development-led infrastructure projects across the UK.\n\nThe successful candidate will play a critical role in the technical delivery of projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of engineering design and delivery.\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nThis is an ideal role for a Senior Civil Engineer seeking:\n\nA collaborative and forward-thinking environment.\nThe opportunity to work on varied projects, from commercial and retail to complex infrastructure like data centres, AD plants, and essential utilities (e.g., highways, drainage, and water).\nA business that actively supports professional development and flexible working.Key Responsibilities\n\nLead and contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of civil engineering projects.\nProduce and review technical designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications.\nEnsure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.\nProvide technical leadership and mentoring for junior engineers and technicians.\nOversee and contribute to the preparation of project budgets, feasibility studies, reports, and design assessments.\nMaintain strong communication with internal teams and external clients.\nSupport project delivery to time, cost, and quality benchmarks.About You\n\nWe’re looking for someone who can bring both technical expertise and leadership capabilities to the team.\n\nRequired:\n\nDegree-qualified in Civil or Architectural Engineering, Engineering Geology, Soil Mechanics or a related field.\n5–8 years of experience in a similar civil engineering role (ideally within a consultancy).\nStrong technical background in infrastructure and non-infrastructure design.\nProficiency in key design tools such as AutoCAD, PDS, Civil 3D, Flow, MicroDrainage, BIM, and similar.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience producing reports and presenting ideas clearly.\nA collaborative approach and proven ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.\nFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.Desirable:\n\nChartered (CEng MICE or equivalent) or actively working towards chartership.\nExperience in business development or client engagement.\nFamiliarity with social and digital platforms for professional engagement
