Position Summary

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end execution of hyperscale and AI-focused data center construction projects, providing direct oversight of field operations and project delivery. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to institutional-quality standards aligned with Cedarwood’s development objectives.

The ideal candidate brings a strong general contractor (GC) background with hands-on field experience and a proven track record delivering mission-critical/data center projects, including deep understanding of MEP systems, schedule-driven execution, and large-scale campus development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct field leadership and oversight of data center construction from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover
  • Lead execution of MEP systems, including electrical distribution, substations, UPS, generators, cooling systems, and critical infrastructure
  • Develop and manage project schedules and budgets, ensuring alignment with Cedarwood’s fast-track delivery model
  • Coordinate field teams, subcontractors, and site activities, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met
  • Drive schedule-critical activities, including sequencing of work, long-lead equipment integration, and site readiness
  • Oversee RFI, submittals, shop drawings, and change order processes to ensure technical compliance and project continuity
  • Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with engineering, development, and commissioning teams to ensure successful system integration and operational readiness
  • Track and report on project performance metrics, including cost, schedule, and risk exposure
  • Support multi-phase campus developments, including phased construction and expansion planning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8-10 years of experience with a general contractor, including direct field experience managing construction execution
  • Proven experience delivering data center or mission-critical construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems and critical infrastructure, including power distribution and cooling systems
  • Experience managing fast-track, schedule-driven construction projects
  • Proficiency in construction scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, cost control, and project reporting
