This opportunity will give you the chance to grow your career and contribute to engineering excellence for the high-tech markets of the future, including semiconductors, batteries, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and data centers.LOCATIONDurham, NC*relocation assistance for non-local applicants is offered.COMPENSATION$150,000 - $195,000 (flexible)POSITION OVERVIEW – Senior Design ManagerThe Senior Design Manager, with expertise in Biopharma Life Sciences, will oversee a multidisciplinary project design team—comprising engineers, designers, and support staff—to deliver high-quality design outputs and provide construction support in full compliance with contractual requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures the overall project design and production process is conducted following the prescribed Companyprocesses and procedures and is in accordance with the stipulated project budget and schedule (including planning, monitoring, and reporting)
- Ensures the project is following the basis of design by performing inter-disciplinary quality, coordination and space management reviews via weekly reviews with project teams.
- Ensures the project is adhering to a strict change management process in accordance with the project budget and schedule
- Executes and enforces the Project Execution Plan (PEP), including updating the PEP and associated material as needed when project conditions change
- Confirms to Project Manager that adequate design and production resources are assigned to meet the project's overall cost, quality, and schedule commitments, as well as ensuring the forecast is current in Manpower Management System (MMS)
- Single point of contact for all design-related issues internally and externally, representing the overall projectin communications with the client, having final technical accountability for overall project design and production (includes managing consultants not managed under other respective Disciplines)
- Oversees the Project VDC Coordination, ensuring adequate hardware and software availability for project team including managing record drawings, documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, and handover documentation
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
- 12+ years of experience showing increasing responsibility leading teams
- Consulting engineering experience
- Experience working within a team environment
- Experience in the quality control review process
- Experience contributing to continuous improvement processes
- Experience leading a team to a successful outcome
QUALIFICATIONS
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Professional Engineering or Architect License
- Biopharma Life Sciences experience
- Knowledge of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360 and/or Navisworks a plus
