Senior Fire Protection Engineer | Ogden, UT
Nexeo HR is assisting with direct-hire placement for Senior Fire Protection Engineers supporting a critical large-scale infrastructure modernization program in Ogden, Utah. This role focuses on complex, highly regulated facility fire protection programs including Fire Protection Plans (FPP), Fire Hazard Analyses (FHA), inspections, system impairments, and code compliance across secure, high-risk environments. Enjoy a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off), paid overtime, and relocation assistance while working on one of the most significant infrastructure programs in the country.
Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain Fire Protection Plans (FPP)
• Review and maintain Fire Hazard Analyses (FHA) and documented safety analyses
• Conduct facility fire protection audits and monthly inspections
• Oversee inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) of sprinkler and fire alarm systems
• Manage Hot Work Permit program oversight and audits
• Evaluate fire system impairments and develop compensatory actions
• Perform facility assessments in accordance with Fire Protection Facility Assessment plans
• Support emergency response coordination and pre-incident planning
• Review system design descriptions, process flow diagrams, and facility layouts
• Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
• Oversee field activities including inspections, testing, and equipment operations
• Support planning meetings, presentations, and cross-discipline coordination
Qualifications
• U.S. able to meet site access and background requirements
• 6+ years of fire protection experience in facility environments
• Experience working with Fire Protection Plans and Fire Hazard Analyses
• Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and ITM requirements
• Experience conducting facility audits and inspections
• Familiarity with Hot Work programs and fire system impairment protocols
• Experience working within large, complex facilities such as:
- Highly regulated or secure facilities
- Nuclear or industrial plants
- Data centers
- Hospitals or utility plants
• High School Diploma with Fire Protection certification OR Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection
• Real ID–compliant driver’s license
Highly Desired
• Professional Engineer (PE) license with ability to stamp fire protection designs
• Experience supporting large-scale, regulated infrastructure programs
• Strong understanding of facility design descriptions and system documentation
Pay Rate
$100,000 - $180,000 Annually
Shift / Schedule
Full Time | 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off)
Paid overtime
