Senior Infrastructure EngineerContract Length: 12 MonthsLocation: Salisbury full time on siteSecurity Clearance: Live and active DVMinimum Requirement:As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide advice and direction on digital infrastructure technical design, implementation, and support of infrastructure technologies. This role will be supporting the running and development of on of Dstls systems, for example they will be working with the current Senior Infrastructure Engineer to; carryout hardware capability refreshes, upgrades, and developments, manage user accounts, configure and install software, and support users and wider project tasking.Responsibilities:Scope out potential solutions with users for digital infrastructure issues and assess the effort and cost involved with implementation.Produce documentation to be used in proposals, following standard project processes and proceduresEvaluate hardware and software (within server, network, storage or desktop environments) to ensure that the test and integration of new products (both hardware and software) for successful incorporation into program infrastructureProvide administration, support, and enhancement of the digital environment for example:o User accountso Control the network access integrityo Manage the data, in terms of space allocated to datao SAN optimizationProvide first to last line support to ensure the right supportBe aware of the relevant timescales and to respond, fix or escalate according to the limits set out within that structureAccurately assess time to complete tasks to ensure operational and user successEssential:A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows workstation and server deployment, system management, and desktop support.Experience in the management and deployment of Windows Domain Services, including Active Directory services and account management, Group Policy management, DHCP and DNS services.Microsoft Windows patch management using WSUS.Administration of Hyper-V virtualization systems.Management of Microsoft SQL servers and Failover clustering.Documentation Skills, with the ability to produce documents for use by colleagues.Sound knowledge of the latest developments and future strategy for their technology area.A can do attitude.Self-paced, motivated, and capable of independent problem solving and fault finding.1st to last line support as part of a small team.Desirable:Advanced Infrastructure skills covering administration.Fault finding/diagnosis and fix, File/Print Clusters.Enterprise thin client environment including SmartCards and PKI.Messaging (Microsoft Exchange server and Database Availability Groups (DAG)).Hardware build and evaluation experience.Experienced in the deployment and management of Trellix (McAfee) security systems.Linux server system management, ideally Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)Network communications and routing (ideally Cisco), and VOIP / VTC solutions.TPBN1_UKTJ
