Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Jira SaaS Administrator to support our federal client, located in Washington, DC. This is onsite in DC with no remote option. We are only considering candidates that currently reside within a 50 mile radius of D.C.

Position Summary 

The Senior Jira SaaS Administrator is responsible for configuring, administering, and optimizing Jira Cloud environment to support an Agile transformation. Working under the guidance of the Jira Product Manager and in close collaboration with Agile coaches, this role ensures Jira aligns with Agile playbook and enables effective planning, tracking, and delivery. Responsibilities include system configuration, integrations, custom workflows, automation, governance, user training, and ongoing support. 

Responsibilities

  • Configure and administer Jira Cloud to support Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban frameworks across multiple teams and projects. 
  • Integrate Jira with enterprise systems, including Okta (SSO) and GitLab, and recommend additional integrations based on organizational needs. 
  • Design and implement custom workflows, automation rules, and dashboards that streamline team processes and provide visibility to stakeholders. 
  • Establish and maintain Jira governance including permissions, naming conventions, project standards, data retention, and compliance policies. 
  • Provide user training and support by creating documentation, delivering training sessions, managing FAQs, and troubleshooting user issues. 

Required Qualifications 

  • At least 2 years of hands-on Jira Cloud administration experience and at least 5 years of overall Jira experience (Server, Data Center, or Cloud). 
  • Proven experience managing Jira environments with 400+ users; expert in configuring workflows, custom fields, screens, issue types, boards (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe), schemes, and permissions. 
  • Experience integrating Jira with SSO providers (Okta) and DevOps tools (GitLab). 
  • Ability to create custom dashboards, reports, and gadgets for various stakeholder needs. 
  • Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to create user-friendly guides, training materials, and video tutorials. 
  • Training delivery experience for both technical and non-technical audiences; strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer service skills. 

Qualifications 

  • Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator certification. 
  • Experience with other Atlassian products (Confluence, Jira Service Management, Jira Align). 
  • Scripting experience (Groovy, Python, JavaScript) for advanced customizations. 
  • Data migration experience from other project management tools to Jira. 
  • Government or highly regulated industry experience.

Salary: $140k - 160k per year
