Senior Manager, Data Center Security Risk & Assurance

The Senior Manager, Security Risk & Assurance is responsible for driving the maturity and execution of CoreWeave’s data center security risk management, assurance and data center security policy programs. Reporting to the Deputy CISO, this role ensures that all security designs, controls, and operational practices across CoreWeave’s global data center footprint meet defined security standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational expectations.

This leader will own the Data Center Security Policy framework, oversee comprehensive risk and assurance audits within our operations sites, and partner closely with Security Design, Operations, Legal and Engineering teams to validate adherence to CoreWeave and its partners’ security objectives. The role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of physical, logical and operational risk, an eye for control assurance, scalability, and strong cross-functional influence in a fast-growing, high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Risk & Assurance Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive data center security risk and assurance program, ensuring CoreWeave and its partners’ security controls and processes align with internal standards, customer contractual requirements and external regulatory frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
  • Policy Ownership: Define, maintain, and continuously improve the Data Center Security Policy suite, ensuring alignment with CoreWeave’s enterprise security strategy and operational capabilities.
    Audit & Assessment Oversight: Plan and lead independent internal audits, control validations, and site risk assessments across CoreWeave’s data center network; deliver actionable findings and track remediation ensuring timely treatment.
  • Operational Assurance: Partner with Data Center Operations, Security Design, and Technical Program Management teams to verify that physical and logical security controls are implemented, maintained, and effective.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Establish measurable KPIs and reporting mechanisms to track control health, audit outcomes, and risk trends; present assurance outcomes and insights to executive leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify systemic risks and process inefficiencies; develop and drive risk reduction and assurance improvement initiatives across CoreWeave’s infrastructure ecosystem.
    Collaboration & Influence: Build strong relationships with internal partners, fostering a culture of accountability and proactive risk management throughout the data center lifecycle.

Emerging Risk Monitoring: Stay current with evolving threat landscapes, compliance standards, and industry best practices to ensure CoreWeave’s data center security programs remain resilient and forward-looking.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in security risk management, compliance, or assurance functions, ideally within cloud, hyperscale, or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Proven success leading risk audits and assurance programs in complex, high-growth organizations.
    Strong understanding of physical and logical security controls, risk frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, HITrust, FedRAMP), and data center operational security.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical security concepts into actionable business insights and governance structures.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Relevant certifications or on-job experience (CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor) preferred.

The base salary range for this role is $135,000 to $198,000. The starting salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. We strive for both market alignment and internal equity when determining compensation. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package includes a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program (all based on eligibility).

Our Workplace

While we prioritize a hybrid work environment, remote work may be considered for candidates located more than 30 miles from an office, based on role requirements for specialized skill sets. New hires will be invited to attend onboarding at one of our hubs within their first month. Teams also gather quarterly to support collaboration
