This is a hands-on leadership position focused on creating and maintaining design standards across complex, high-performance data centre environments.Working across electrical, mechanical, civil and BIM disciplines, you will combine technical depth with commercial awareness and delivery capability. This role suits someone who enjoys building the framework from the ground up, getting into engineering detail when required and influencing consultants, contractors and senior stakeholders.Senior Manager, Data Center Design Benefits:£150,000 salary plus 30% bonusOpportunity to shape design standards for advanced AI infrastructure environmentsSenior technical ownership across multiple disciplinesExposure to executive stakeholders, EPCs, design consultants and specialist delivery partnersThe Senior Manager, Data Center Design Role:Create and maintain electrical, mechanical, civil and BIM design standards across live projectsReview and provide technical input on consultant and contractor design packagesWork through detailed engineering considerations including power distribution, cooling strategies and structural requirements for high-density compute environmentsParticipate directly in design workshops and technical discussions with EPCs and consultantsDefine technical requirements and review supplier and contractor responsesBuild and develop technical leadership capability across electrical, mechanical, civil and BIM disciplines as the portfolio expandsProvide hands-on technical guidance while maintaining consistency across project deliverySenior Manager, Data Center Design Requirements:Strong hands-on design experience in electrical or mechanical engineering within data centres or similarly complex mission-critical facilitiesExperience reviewing, developing or producing technical design documentation rather than only managing review processesKnowledge of high-density compute environments, including GPU infrastructure considerationsUnderstanding of cooling strategies, including air and liquid cooling approachesExperience challenging and influencing consultants, EPCs and technical stakeholders on engineering decisionsAbility to establish standards and processes from the ground upEngineering degree in mechanical, electrical or a related disciplineDesirable Experience:Experience working across European and US data centre markets and relevant codesExposure to liquid cooling technologies such as direct liquid cooling or cooling distribution unitsChartered Engineer status or equivalentIf you are a technical design leader who enjoys building standards, solving complex engineering challenges and remaining close to delivery, apply now for more information.TPBN1_UKTJ
