Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services Location: Sussex (Hybrid Working) Salary: Circa £45,000 - £55,000 Type: Permanent A highly regarded Building Services Consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Sussex-based team. This consultancy delivers technically excellent and sustainable solutions for a wide range of projects including commercial, residential, mission-critical, hotels and more. The Role You will take a lead role in designing, managing and supervising mechanical building services projects, from concept through to completion.
Working on a variety of sectors including data centres, high-rise residential, hotels and commercial developments, you will have the opportunity to work across complex, high-profile projects with real technical challenges. Key responsibilities include: Leading projects and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams Preparing detailed designs, specifications, reports and drawings Managing project budgets, schedules and resources Conducting site supervision and inspections of workmanship and testing Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and industry standards Mentoring and supporting junior staff Maintaining strong client and design team relationships to encourage repeat business About You Membership of a professional engineering body, with desire to work towards chartership Minimum 5-6 years’ industry experience in building services engineering Strong technical competence and understanding of client requirements Good communication, presentation and commercial skills Potential to develop management skills and take on design team leadership Experience across multiple sectors is advantageous Why Join?
