Salter Grange is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the team at one of the most esteemed builders of Data Centres in the UK & Europe. As a leading contractor in the Data Centre industry, they are at the forefront of innovation and sustainability and have expanded in Europe with a rich pipeline of work.
This presents a thrilling opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to venture into the ever-evolving Data Centre sector. While we welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, it would be advantageous for you to have prior experience working on significant projects such as industrial, aviation, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or commercial endeavours.
The main role of the Senior Engineer will be to support the Lead Engineer in delivering the project.
Senior Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:
- Technical and Package Management
- produce Tech Subs for the mechanical packages and manage the suppliers' and subcontractors' deliverables and deadlines.
- Monitor and manage the supply chain’s progress on site and meet with the sub-contractor managers to ensure programme dates are achieved.
- Prefabrication: The Senior Mechanical Engineer will need to assist the Lead Engineer in developing a prefabrication strategy, i.e. creating a design for prefabricated pipework modules and skids and managing the development and delivery of these modules to the site. - BIM Model Development: The Senior Mechanical Engineer will need to interface and develop the BIM model with our BIM specialists. This will include (i) providing technical information to BIM Technicians, (ii) contributing to model development workshops, (iii) providing guidance to BIM Technicians with mark-ups and annotations and (iv) continuously reviewing the model for issues and improvements that can be made to it.
- Factory Tests: Attending factory tests for the major plant items to ensure satisfactory results and compliance with the project specification requirements. Factory test experience is .
- Commissioning: Responsibility for completion of the systems, including QA sign o/s, system handovers to water treatment specialists. Involvement in the commissioning process (with the guidance of the commissioning manager) until project completion.
Senior Mechanical Engineer Requirements:
- Data centre experience is preferable, but not essential.
- The candidate does need experience in working on larg,e newly built projects in the UK, i.e. large commercial, residential or municipal buildings.
- 5 Years of experience in the industry is the absolute minimum requirement.
