At MiCiM, we specialise in delivering end-to-end project management and construction solutions for the Data Centre and Mission Critical sectors. Our collaborative and transparent approach sets the standard for excellence. We’re seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong design background to join our expert team. In this role, you’ll focus on design review, commissioning, and operational optimisation for our international data centre & mission critical projects and clients.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Undertaking design peer review to evaluate design information against client requirements including;
- Potential areas where the design may be simplified (risk and cost reduction opportunities)
- Possible enhancements of the design in line with industry best practices
- Opportunities for reduced energy consumption and environmental impact
- Opportunities to improve the commissionability of the design
- Opportunities to improve the operability and maintainability of the design
- Evaluating risk to live facilities during upgrade works
- Writing comprehensive reports with findings and maintaining a comments tracker
- Developing project specific commissioning requirements (commissioning strategy, Employer’s Requirements document, commissioning specification) and ensuring contractors are following the required processes and standards set
- Supporting MiCiM construction projects with technical input and project delivery experience,
- Undertaking assessments of operational facilities to identify risks and improvement opportunities
- Managing the critical systems commissioning; documentation review at Levels 1-3 and production & execution of tests at Levels 4-5
- Visiting site to review project progress and analyse operational issues in existing facilities
- Working collaboratively and communicating with all project stakeholders, including contractors
About You:
- An experienced electrical engineer with the ability to take initiative, lead teams and work well under pressure.
- Technical excellence in Electrical Design and a good understanding of multi-disciplinary input within building services consultancy
- Deep knowledge of Levels of Commissioning, per highest industry standard
- Experience of data centre design
- Experience of data centre commissioning and working with operational data centres
