Job Description

Client: Working throughout several sectors including commercial, science & health, data centres, the business has seen a significant amount of growth in the last 5 Years. With a traditional engineering mindset and reinvestment into new principals, the business expects 2026 to be a similar period of growth. After a successful year they are now looking to increase turnover to £230M, consequently they are looking to expand their operations team.

Despite their size, my client are a family owned and run business and this is a trait they pride themselves on with well over 80% of their clients using them on multiple occasions because of the nature of the business.\n\nRole: Senior Mechanical Project Manager - £95,000 - £105,000 + Package\n\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading the electrical packages on a £25m new commercial build in the city. You will be reporting to a Project Director and have an electrical counterpart alongside you. You will be managing a team of site managers and engineers.\n\nRole/Responsibilities:\n\n * Tender review/validation\n\n * Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)\n\n * Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant\n\n * Technical submittals\n\n * RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors\n\n * Value Engineering where applicable\n\n * Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project\n\n * Health & Safety management (RAMs)\n\n * Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Survey.\n\n * Management of variations\n\n * Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors)\n\n * Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings\n\n * Overseeing commissioning stages\n\n * Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover\n\nThe ideal candidate:\n\n * Experience managing projects to a minimum of £10m within your own discipline\n\n * A minimum 3 years’ experience in a management role\n\n * The candidate will show longevity in previous employment\n\nIn return they offer:\n\n * A healthy pipeline of work\n\n * Join a stable business who have an excellent staff attrition rate.\n\n * A very competitive basic salary and package\n\n * Realistic development and promotion opportunity
