Senior Mechanical Technical Services Manager – Data Centre\n\nCanary Wharf | £130M M&E Package | Up to £95K + Package\n\nThis is not a maintenance role.\nThis is not a coordination role hidden behind paperwork.\n\nThis is a chance to take ownership of the full mechanical lifecycle on one of London’s major data centre projects.\n\nA leading contractor is looking for a Senior Mechanical Technical Services Manager to sit above an established MEP delivery team on a £130M M&E package in Canary Wharf.\n\nYou’ll be the person connecting everything together:\n\n * Pre-construction\n\n * Design coordination\n\n * Mechanical installation\n\n * Programme delivery\n\n * Commissioning\n\n * Handover\n\nThe project is already live with a strong MEP structure in place. What’s needed now is a Senior Mechanical Technical Services Manager who can lead from the front, drive standards, hold teams accountable and keep the entire mechanical package moving smoothly.\n\nThe Role\n\nThis is a 50/50 office and site-based position, focused on overseeing the bigger picture rather than day-to-day supervision.\n\nYou’ll manage and coordinate the full mechanical delivery across:\n\n * Packaged plantrooms\n\n * Chillers\n\n * Water tanks\n\n * Pipework & plumbing\n\n * Cooling systems\n\n * HVAC infrastructure\n\nYou’ll work closely with internal MEP teams and act as the key point of contact with the on-site contractor, Jones Engineering.\n\nThat means this role needs more than technical ability.\n\nYou need presence.\nStrong communication.\nThe confidence to challenge, negotiate and lead meetings when required.\n\nWhat They’re Looking For\n\nThe ideal Senior Mechanical Technical Services Manager will have:\n\n * Data centre project experience\n\n * Strong mechanical building services knowledge\n\n * Experience across the full project lifecycle\n\n * The ability to lead technical delivery from design through to handover\n\n * Strong coordination and programme management skills\n\n * The confidence to manage difficult conversations and drive accountability\n\nA tools background is not essential.\n\nWhat matters most is technical credibility, leadership and the ability to keep complex projects under control.\n\nIf someone has the right attitude and strong foundations but isn’t quite at senior level yet, there is genuine willingness to coach and develop them.\n\nWhy This Opportunity?\n\n * Major flagship data centre project\n\n * Clear structure and support around you\n\n * Long-term progression potential\n\n * Immediate hiring process for the right person\n\n * High-performing technical environment\n\n * Opportunity to work on one of the most in-demand sectors in construction\n\nPackage\n\n * Up to £95,000 salary\n\n * £5,000 travel allowance\n\n * Additional travel expenses covered\n\n * Private medical\n\n * Annual bonus (3%-6%)
