Senior MEP Engineers

Location: London, UK (with European project exposure)
Salary: Competitive + benefits package

Join a rapidly expanding consultancy delivering high-performance MEP design for mission-critical infrastructure.

Our client is a specialist engineering consultancy delivering advanced Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) solutions for hyperscale and colocation data centres across Europe and the Middle East.

Known for their technical depth, digital engineering capability, and focus on high-density, high-reliability environments, they support the full lifecycle of complex data-centre developments from concept through to commissioning.

As they continue to scale, they are seeking Senior MEP Engineers to contribute to multidisciplinary design delivery, coordinate complex engineering interfaces, and help shape innovative solutions for some of the most demanding mission-critical projects in the sector.

About the Role

The Senior MEP Engineer will play a key role in delivering coordinated MEP designs for large-scale data-centre projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute detailed design, ensure system integration, manage interfaces between mechanical and electrical systems, and provide technical leadership on high-density and mission-critical solutions.

This role requires strong technical understanding across both mechanical and electrical systems, with proven experience delivering designs for data centres or similarly complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate MEP design packages for high-density, mission-critical data-center environments.
  • Produce and review detailed mechanical and electrical design documentation, including schematics, calculations, equipment schedules and reports.
  • Ensure effective integration and interface management across HVAC, power distribution, cooling, controls and public-health systems.
  • Work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, BIM and CFD teams to deliver unified design solutions.
  • Support senior engineers and discipline leads in project planning, delivery and technical decision-making.
  • Attend internal and external design workshops, presenting MEP considerations and resolving coordination issues.
  • Conduct engineering analysis and support performance modelling for airflow, cooling, redundancy, energy efficiency and resilience.
  • Manage technical queries from contractors and contribute to site-based design validation.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant design standards, best practice guides, and internal QA processes.
  • Support junior engineers through mentoring, guidance and technical review.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong experience delivering MEP designs for data centres, critical environments, advanced industrial facilities or similar high-reliability projects.
  • Solid understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems, including cooling technologies, HVAC systems, LV/HV distribution, UPS, generators and resilience strategies.
  • Experience working through all project stages, including design, coordination, construction support and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with BIM workflows and coordinated design models.
  • Strong communication skills, with confidence presenting technical information and engaging with clients and project partners.

Why Apply?

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a high-growth consultancy delivering engineering for some of Europe’s most advanced data-centre developments.

You will work with industry specialists, contribute to technically demanding MEP solutions, gain exposure to cutting-edge data-centre design practices and help shape the next generation of mission-critical infrastructure.
