Job Title: Senior Network Administrator

Location: San Marcos, TX - Onsite Work

Duration: 6 Months

Job Summary

The Senior Network Administrator with Engineering and Architecture responsibilities will design, engineer, secure, and maintain the organization’s enterprise network infrastructure. This role blends high-level architectural planning with hands-on engineering and operational support. The ideal candidate brings deep experience supporting complex enterprise networks with strong security, scalability, and availability requirements.

Work Authorization: U.S. /Green Card ONLY due to legal or government contract requirement.

Key Responsibilities

Network Architecture & Design

  • Architect scalable and secure network solutions for enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center environments.
  • Design network topologies for multi-site organizations, distributed offices, data centers, and high-density wireless environments.
  • Implement routing architectures (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and advanced switching technologies (VLANs, STP, VXLAN, QoS).
  • Develop Zero Trust and micro-segmentation strategies for diverse enterprise user populations.
  • Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies aligned with business and operational goals.

Network Engineering & Implementation

  • Deploy and configure enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure across offices, data centers, and operational facilities.
  • Engineer hybrid cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure, GCP) and support cloud-based applications and services.
  • Implement SD-WAN and modern enterprise network architectures.
  • Use automation tools (Python, Ansible) for configuration management and operational efficiency.
  • Lead major network upgrades, migrations, and large-scale wireless deployments.

Operations & Administration

  • Oversee network availability and performance across all organizational locations and facilities.
  • Provide Tier-3 support for complex network issues impacting critical business operations.
  • Manage DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, NTP, and IPAM systems.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and ITIL-based change records.

Security & Compliance

  • Manage firewall policies, NAC, IDS/IPS, and secure remote access solutions.
  • Support compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST and CIS benchmarks.
  • Partner with cybersecurity and IT governance teams to protect sensitive organizational data.
  • Lead network security architecture initiatives across the enterprise.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, facilities, and IT leadership teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network staff.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert on network architecture and strategy for enterprise stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of experience in network engineering, architecture, or administration.
  • Experience supporting large-scale, multi-site enterprise networks.
  • Strong expertise with networking platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Aruba.
  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, and network security fundamentals.
  • Experience designing high-availability enterprise networks.
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid architectures.
  • Proficiency with monitoring and diagnostic tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark, NetFlow).
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, PowerShell).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Advanced certifications such as:

  • CCNP / CCIE
  • JNCIP / JNCIE
  • PCNSE, Fortinet NSE
  • AWS or Azure Networking Specialty
  • Experience with VoIP, SD-WAN, wireless controllers (Aruba/Cisco), and EVPN/VXLAN architectures.
