Power Systems Engineer – Manchester

Location: Manchester, UK | Hybrid

About the Role

A leading international engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Power Systems Engineer to join its growing Manchester team. You’ll play a key technical and leadership role delivering resilient electrical infrastructure for data centres, mission-critical facilities, utilities and other complex power projects across the UK and internationally.

As a technical lead, you’ll influence projects from concept through delivery, lead multidisciplinary teams, manage technical risk, engage with clients and contribute to the growth of the Power Systems capability.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the design and delivery of complex power systems and substation projects.

* Undertake and review load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash and transient studies.

* Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

* Support proposals, bids and business development activities.

* Review designs, manage technical risks and ensure programme, budget and quality objectives are met.

* Mentor and develop engineers and support technical excellence.

* Contribute to engineering standards, innovation and the development of the Power Systems team.

Requirements

* Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

* CEng or actively working towards chartership.

* Significant experience in power systems design, analysis and delivery within data centres, utilities, renewables or critical infrastructure.

* Strong understanding of power system studies and electrical network design.

* Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing client relationships.

* Proficiency with ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or similar software.
