Senior Project Engineer - Fire Protection Data Center

Job Description

• Create design drawing packages referencing project specifications, codes, and project requirements for submittal to customers and AHJs.
• Assist with the creation of documentation and processing of document revisions.
• Attend manufacturer training classes.
• Obtain and maintain the licenses and certifications required for a fire alarm and fire suppression designer.
• Assist with inspections and startups as needed.
• Provide technical and design support to other departments.
• Revise and process redline drawings provided by shop, field, and engineering staff.
• Survey job sites, including active data center projects, to ensure proper system design.
• Assist in the training and development of other engineers.
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers as part of professional development.
• Comply with company and customer safety policies.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in fire protection or fire suppression design.
• Exposure to multiple fire suppression manufacturers’ systems (i.e., Kidde, Fike, Ansul, etc.).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD software.
• Strong desire to mentor and assist with the growth of new or inexperienced engineers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• NICET Level III+ in Fire Alarm System Design or Special Hazards Suppression Design.

Skills

Experience with 3D design software (BIM, Revit, etc.).
