Position Details

Location: New Florence, Missouri, approximately one hour northwest of St. Louis
\n
Work Arrangement: Full-time, on-site
\n
Schedule: Five 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday, plus alternating Saturdays; scheduled Saturday work is included in salary

Compensation: Competitive, commensurate with experience
\n
Start Date: Rolling, as project needs are identified
\n
Project Duration: Approximately three years remaining in Phase 1
\n
Relocation: Required if not currently within practical commuting distance
\n
Employment Type: Project-based employment with potential for continued long-term placement

Per Diem: Monthly per diem is available regardless of residence. A substantially enhanced package is available to eligible employees whose permanent residence is at least 100 miles from the project site. Per diem may include taxable and non-taxable components according to applicable requirements and company policy.

Position Overview
\n
Albers is building a bench of experienced MEP, quality, and commissioning professionals for an active hyperscale data center project in New Florence, Missouri. The project is in its early stages, with approximately three years of planned construction activity remaining in Phase 1. We anticipate multiple openings over the coming weeks and are interviewing now.
\n
\n
Albers typically operates as an owner’s representative and, for this assignment, is providing staff augmentation to a member of the project’s construction joint venture. Selected team members will integrate with the broader project team while remaining employees of Albers.
\n
\n
Areas of Need
\n
We are prioritizing candidates in the following areas, in this order:
\n
\n
MEP delivery: Project managers, construction managers, and senior field leaders across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and controls. These roles cover delivery from design coordination and submittal review through installation, testing, and turnover.
\n
\n
Quality assurance and quality control: QA/QC managers and inspectors responsible for inspection and test plans, installation verification, deficiency tracking, NCRs, and turnover documentation on complex systems.
\n
\n
Commissioning: Commissioning managers, leads, and agents experienced with Level 1-5 commissioning, functional performance testing, load bank testing, integrated systems testing, and systems turnover.
\n
\n
Representative Responsibilities
\n
Specific duties depend on role and discipline, and may include:
\n
- \n
- Managing assigned systems from design coordination and submittal review through installation, testing, commissioning, and turnover;
- Coordinating contractors, subcontractors, engineers, vendors, commissioning agents, project controls, operations personnel, and owner-side stakeholders;
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules, submittals, RFIs, test reports, and commissioning documentation;
- Identifying and resolving constructability concerns, design gaps, sequencing conflicts, access constraints, material issues, and scope-interference risks;
- Conducting regular field walks to monitor safety, quality, installation progress, testing readiness, and schedule performance;
- Tracking near-term constraints, long-lead equipment, inspections, deficiencies, action items, and turnover deliverables;
- Supporting startup, testing, integrated systems testing, and punch-list resolution;
- Communicating status, risks, decisions, and recovery plans to project leadership while maintaining clear project records.

Required Qualifications
\n
- \n
- Eight (8) or more years of relevant experience in MEP project management, construction management, quality management, or commissioning.
- Experience on data center, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, or similarly systems-intensive projects. Here, systems-intensive means projects with MEP systems, redundancy, and commissioning at the core of the work.
- Demonstrated responsibility for systems through construction, startup, testing, commissioning, or turnover.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, submittals, RFIs, and testing and commissioning records in your discipline.
- Strong field leadership, documentation, issue tracking, and stakeholder communication skills.

\n
A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline is but not required. Substantial field-based experience may substitute for a degree.
\n
\n
Qualifications
\n
- \n
- Direct hyperscale or large-scale data center experience.
- Experience with fast-track, multi-building, or concurrently constructed projects.
- Commissioning credentials (e.g., CxA, BCxP, NETA) or quality credentials (e.g., CQM-C, ASQ), where applicable to the role.
- OSHA 30-hour Construction training; familiarity with NFPA 70E and lockout/tagout coordination.
- Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, Hoylu, Bluebeam, BIM coordination, commissioning platforms (e.g., CxAlloy, BlueCx), or comparable software tools.

Work Environment and Conditions of Employment
\n
This is an active, field-oriented construction role requiring extended site walking and standing; access to mechanical and electrical rooms, data halls, equipment areas, stairs, ladders, and uneven surfaces; work around noise, dust, weather, and changing site conditions; and use of required PPE. The position may require occasional early mornings, evenings, additional hours, and project-related travel. Essential functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
