Senior Project Manager – Structural Steel & PEMB
Location/Onsite: In-Office – Charlotte, NC

A Day in the Life of the Senior Project Manager
In this role, you’ll be leading large-scale structural steel and PEMB projects across diverse sectors, including industrial, commercial, oil & gas, data centers, aviation, and more. You’ll oversee everything from scheduling to billing to team development, all while working closely with general contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. This is a key leadership role with direct impact on project success, client satisfaction, and company growth.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the full project lifecycle: estimating support, contracting, scheduling, financial auditing, billing, and closeout
- Coordinating with GCs, vendors, and internal teams
- Planning erection sequences and overseeing execution timelines
- Managing and mentoring a team of 4+ Project Managers and 4+ Assistant PMs (as you grow into the role)
- Using tools like Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and 3D modeling platforms to drive project efficiency
- Managing approximately $100M+ in project value annually
- Participating in travel 1–2x/month for site visits and team coordination
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in steel erection/fabrication
- At least 3 years in an office-based construction PM role
- Strong people management experience—mentoring, performance reviews, and leadership input
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling tools
- Solid grasp of financial and contract management
- Experience with both structural steel and PEMB projects (steel )
- Able to work onsite AND able to travel to sites 1-2 times/month
