Senior Quantity Surveyor

I'm working with a leading specialist civil engineering who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major data centre development.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key commercial role on a significant enabling works package, joining a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of complex infrastructure and construction projects across the UK.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll take commercial responsibility for a substantial package of works, working closely with the project team to ensure commercial success from procurement through to final account.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing the commercial aspects of a major enabling works package
Administering NEC contracts and managing contractual obligations
Procurement and management of subcontractors
Preparing and agreeing valuations, variations and final accounts
Cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs
Managing change control and compensation events
Building strong relationships with both internal and client teams
Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff where required

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or major construction projects
Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
Experience managing complex subcontract packages
Excellent commercial and contractual awareness
The ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced project environment
Experience on infrastructure, enabling works, earthworks, groundworks or large-scale construction projects would be advantageous
