Freelance Site Engineer / Senior Site Engineer\nGroundworks, Structures & S278 Works\nLocation: Hayes (West London)\n\nWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Senior Site Engineer to join a major data centre project based near Hayes. This role is with a leading subcontractor delivering groundworks, structural works, and S278 infrastructure packages on a large-scale, high-profile scheme.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a technically demanding project with long-term work potential.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Carry out and oversee accurate setting out for groundworks, structures, and S278 works\n\n * Manage and mentor site engineers and junior staff\n\n * Ensure QA processes are implemented and maintained across all works\n\n * Interpret and review technical drawings and specifications\n\n * Raise and manage RFIs and resolve on-site engineering issues\n\n * Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and client representatives\n\n * Maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality on site\n\n * Support delivery in line with programme requirements\n\nRequirements:\n\n * Strong experience in groundworks, RC/steel structures, and/or S278 works\n\n * Proven track record working on large-scale infrastructure or data centre projects\n\n * Excellent setting out and surveying skills\n\n * Confident managing engineering teams on site\n\n * Proficient with modern surveying equipment and software\n\n * CSCS card required (additional tickets advantageous)\n\nWhat’s on Offer:\n\n * Competitive freelance rates\n\n * Long-term opportunity on a flagship data centre project\n\n * Engineering instruments, laptop, and phone provided by the client\n\n * Payment via CIS (through a third-party payroll provider)\n\nIf you’re a driven Senior Site Engineer looking to take on a key role within a major project, we’d love to hear from you.\n\nKeywords - Senior Site Engineer, Site Engineer, Setting out Engineer, Project Engineer, Section Engineer, Construciton Site Engineer, Senior Setting out Engineer
