Senior Structural Design Engineer – Freelance

Rate: £45–£50/ hour

Outside IR35

Our client, a well respected, international multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, is looking for a Senior Structural Design Engineer to join their London office on a long-term freelance basis. This is a key role supporting the delivery of major data centre projects across the UK and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• The Senior Structural Design Engineer will be leading the structural design and analysis of steel and reinforced concrete structures.
• The Senior Structural Design Engineer will deliver calculations, design reports, and technical drawings to industry standards.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP designers and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated outputs.
• The Senior Structural Design Engineer will be contributing to design reviews, value engineering and buildability assessments.
• Ensure all work complies with Eurocodes and relevant British Standards.

Skills & Background

• Degree-qualified in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Chartered or working towards CEng (ICE or IStructE).
• Strong structural design background within consultancy environments.
• Proficient in tools such as Revit, Tekla Structural Designer or ETABS.
• Strong understanding of design processes from concept through to detailed design.
• The ideal Structural Design Engineer will bring strong design experience in concrete and steel structures and be fully competent with codes and procedures (Eurocodes, British Standards, AISC, ACI, ASCE7 etc.)
