EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, On-site

TRAVEL: Up to 25%

POSITION SUMMARY

Modern Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager (Sr. TPM) to lead mission-critical projects supporting large-scale Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads and enterprise infrastructure. This role combines technical expertise with project management and leadership, driving the design, deployment, and security of scalable platforms. The Sr. TPM will oversee project planning, execution, risk and change management, and collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and security teams to ensure successful delivery. In addition, this role provides mentorship, fosters cross-team collaboration, and contributes directly to solving complex technical challenges in distributed systems, Kubernetes, Linux, and datacenter operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):

  • Lead complex technical programs from planning through delivery, aligning outcomes with mission objectives and organizational goals.
  • Develop and manage project plans covering scope, schedule, risk, and budget while ensuring timely and secure delivery of infrastructure initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and security teams to design, deploy, and sustain Kubernetes clusters and Linux-based environments supporting AI workloads.
  • Oversee security and compliance efforts, including driving Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes and maintaining DoD/IC accreditation standards.
  • Apply Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall frameworks to optimize workflows, manage change, and ensure transparency in execution.
  • Serve as the primary stakeholder liaison, communicating project status, risks, and deliverables to leadership and customers.
  • Mentor and guide technical staff, foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across teams.
  • Recommend and implement process and technology enhancements to improve performance, scalability, and mission readiness.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess an active Department of Defense (DoD) TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
  • Must possess a current IAM Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CAP, CASP) per DoD 8570 IAT requirements.
  • 8–10 years of experience leading complex technical programs or infrastructure projects, including AI, cloud, or data center environments.
  • Proficiency in project management frameworks (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and ability to adapt methodology to project needs.
  • Proven success in strategic planning, risk management, budgeting, and delivery oversight.
  • Experience leading Authorization to Operate (ATO) efforts and maintaining security compliance.
  • Strong technical foundation in Linux and infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Networking, Storage).
  • Experience deploying or managing Kubernetes clusters supporting large-scale or AI workloads.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interface across engineering, operations, and leadership teams.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience delivering Datacenter-as-a-Service (DCaaS) or other enterprise-scale infrastructure programs.
  • Knowledge of cloud-security accreditation and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, DoD, or Intelligence Community standards).
  • Background in change management and continuous-improvement practices.
  • Demonstrated mentorship or team-development experience.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Splunk, AppDynamics, or DynaTrace).
  • Experience optimizing cloud or AI platforms across hybrid or multi-tenant environments.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and adaptability to emerging technologies.
