Our client is seeking a Senior Transmission Engineer to join its growing Transmission & Distribution practice. This role is focused on high-voltage transmission line engineering and design, supporting utility, power , data center, and interconnection projects. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in transmission line design and enjoys leading engineering efforts on complex projects from concept through construction.
Responsibilities

• Lead transmission line engineering and design from conceptual planning through detailed design and project completion.
• Perform and oversee engineering studies including conductor sizing, impedance analysis, induction studies, losses, voltage drop calculations, and related transmission system evaluations.
• Lead economic conductor selection studies and lightning performance evaluations.
• Perform and review electrical clearance calculations in accordance with NESC and other applicable industry standards.
• Interpret and apply NERC, FERC, and regional transmission requirements.
• Prepare equipment specifications, data sheets, bid packages, and technical evaluations.
• Review vendor drawings and coordinate with suppliers, clients, engineers, and project stakeholders.
• Perform quality reviews of engineering deliverables and design documentation.
• Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and construction activities.
• Assist with change management, cost estimates, proposals, and technical presentations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Support client relationships and business development initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of transmission engineering experience.
• Strong experience with high-voltage transmission line design.
• Experience with transmission design codes, standards, and engineering best practices.
• Proficiency with:
  • PLS-CADD
  • PLS-POLE
  • AutoCAD
  • Microsoft Office
• Experience evaluating structure types, routing constraints, and design tradeoffs.
• Experience leading technical design efforts on large engineering projects.
• Experience performing engineering quality reviews and preparing technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Utility transmission engineering experience.
• Consulting engineering experience.
• EPC project experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale utility, power , data center, or interconnection projects.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers.
