VMG performs mechanical construction projects across a variety of sectors including commercial office buildings, multifamily developments, government facilities, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, and mission-critical facilities.
Position Overview
Vertical Mechanical Group is seeking a Sheet Metal Project Manager with experience in BIM coordination and AutoCAD to manage commercial HVAC sheet metal projects from preconstruction through completion.
This role is ideal for someone who understands both field installation and digital coordination, enabling them to effectively manage fabrication, installation, and coordination between BIM teams and field crews.
This position follows a hybrid work structure, with time split between the Berryville office and job sites depending on project needs.
Foremen or General Foremen with strong leadership and coordination experience who are ready to transition into project management are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial HVAC sheet metal construction projects from kickoff through closeout
- Coordinate schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Review and interpret BIM models, coordination drawings, and AutoCAD layouts
- Work closely with BIM/VDC teams to resolve clashes and coordination issues
- Coordinate fabrication drawings with field installation teams
- Conduct project meetings with clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Track project progress, budgets, and change orders
- Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and schedule requirements
- Support field leadership to maintain productivity and project timelines
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing HVAC or sheet metal construction projects
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC sheet metal systems
- Experience with AutoCAD, BIM coordination, or Revit/Navisworks
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
- Experience coordinating with fabrication shops and field installation teams
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Experience on commercial mechanical construction projects
