Shift Engineer

Shift Engineer | Croydon | £50,000 – £60,000 | Continental Shift Pattern

I'm currently working with a long-standing client who is looking to recruit experienced Shift Engineers to join a busy data centre operation in Croydon.
This is a great opportunity for an engineer looking to work within a critical environment, with responsibility for maintaining a range of electrical and mechanical building services across a highly operational site.
You'll be working as part of a dedicated engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the site remains operational 24/7, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance across critical systems.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across the site

* Responding to breakdowns and ensuring faults are diagnosed and rectified efficiently

* Maintaining critical electrical and mechanical systems

* Monitoring and operating building services and plant

* Carrying out regular site inspections and reporting any defects or issues

* Working safely and in line with site procedures and compliance requirements

* Assisting with isolations, testing and emergency response where required

* Maintaining accurate maintenance records and completing relevant documentation

* Working closely with the wider engineering team and specialist contractors

* Supporting the continued reliability and availability of critical infrastructure

About You

* A recognised electrical or mechanical engineering qualification

* Strong experience within a building services or critical engineering environment

* Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance

* Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills

* The ability to work confidently in a high-pressure environment

* A strong understanding of health & safety and compliance

* Good communication skills and a professional approach

Package

* £50,000 – £60,000 salary

* Continental shift pattern – days & nights

* Permanent position
