Job Description – Shipping and Receiving Clerk

About the Role
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk manages inbound and outbound material flow to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient movement of goods within the facility. The role verifies shipments, maintains inventory accuracy, and coordinates with internal teams and carriers to support production and customer delivery requirements. The position contributes to operational efficiency, inventory integrity, and overall supply chain performance.
What You’ll Do
Shipping & Receiving Operations
- Own accuracy of all inbound and outbound shipments processed through the facility.
- Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Inspect materials for damage, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
- Prepare outbound shipments including packaging, labelling, and documentation.
- Coordinate shipment schedules with carriers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate shipping records, bills of lading, and receiving documentation.
Inventory & Warehouse Coordination
- Ensure inventory accuracy by properly recording all material movements in systems.
- Move materials to designated storage or staging areas following warehouse procedures.
- Support cycle counts and physical inventory activities to maintain data integrity.
- Identify discrepancies and coordinate resolution with purchasing or operations teams.
- Maintain organization of warehouse space to support efficient material flow.
- Track and update inventory transactions within ERP or warehouse systems.
Safety, Quality & Process Support
- Follow all safety procedures related to material handling and warehouse operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in alignment with 5S standards.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Report damaged goods, safety hazards, or operational issues immediately.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
Additional Expectations
- Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
- Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
- Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
- Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
- This role will require working long hours and weekends to meet production schedules and company activities (i.e.: recording inventory).
What You’ll Bring
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 - 3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations
- Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems
- Ability to read shipping documents, packing slips, and bills.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and transaction processing
- Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and documentation
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines
