Position: Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Location: Itasca, IL
Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months)
Compensation: $21–$25/hr
Schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Currently 5:00 AM – 4:30 PM with overtime needs)
Overtime: Up to 20 hours/week
Openings: 2

Overview
A growing industrial manufacturer is seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support its fast-expanding operations, including major projects in machinery production and data center equipment. This role is essential in ensuring seamless material flow throughout the facility and will focus heavily on receiving parts and materials that support manufacturing.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in shipping/receiving within an OEM or machine-building environment, thrives in a fast-paced warehouse setting, and is comfortable working substantial overtime.
Key Responsibilities

Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials, verifying part numbers, quantities, and documentation.

Organize, track, and store parts and equipment using an ERP system.

Load and prepare outgoing shipments, including domestic and international freight.

Operate forklifts safely and efficiently; assist with crane rigging when needed.

Use power tools for crating and un-crating shipments.

Work closely with delivery drivers, internal teams, and suppliers.

Maintain accurate records, inventory logs, and discrepancy reports.

Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

3+ years of experience in a shipping & receiving department.

Proficient forklift operation.

Experience using power tools for crating/packaging.

Strong attention to detail when verifying shipments.

Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Office, and ERP systems.

Ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods.
Qualifications

Experience in an OEM or machine-builder environment.

Crane rigging experience.

Familiarity with industrial machinery, equipment, or large mechanical parts.
