Quality Electrical Systems (QES) is seeking a Shipping Coordinator to join our day shift team. The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for performing a wide variety of shipping and logistics tasks to support our customers, sales team, and other departments. This role ensures that all products are properly prepared, packaged, and documented for safe and efficient delivery.

Shift: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate and locate product from the production area to the shipping staging area for processing, including photographing prepackaged product.
  • Oversee and validate wrapping and packaging of products to meet all shipping requirements for safe transit.
  • Photograph wrapped products and document pallet weights and dimensions.
  • Safely operate forklifts and cranes (certification required).
  • Build crates and pallets for secure shipment of products.
  • Coordinate and assist with loading gear and products onto dry van and flatbed trailers.
  • Ensure all products are properly secured to trailers using ratchet straps.
  • Monitor and manage L2L shipping dispatches.
  • Prepare itemized packing slips and Bills of Lading for all outgoing freight.
  • Process small parcel shipments through UPS WorldShip and maintain shipment logs with pricing and tracking details.
  • Assign drivers for local deliveries and Will Call orders.
  • Collect and submit all driver documentation, including logs, pre-trip inspections, and signed Bills of Lading.
  • Apply all required freight signage to outgoing shipments.
  • Create and organize job folders with product photos per Job Order and upload to the appropriate Sales Order on the server.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing (ladders, stairs, etc.).
  • Exposure to noise, weather conditions, and chemical vapors.
  • Regular use of equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and cranes.
  • Extended periods of physical activity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and ability to apply it in a work environment.
  • Strong reading comprehension and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Forklift and/or crane certification required.
