Role Description
The Network Survey Technician works closely with the local Project Manager and Field Engineer to gather site survey data. Site surveys include assessing the viability of a given asset for mounting Itron network gear. Field duties will include driving to site locations, gathering cellular signal strength information, using a laser measuring tools, applying acceptance criteria/standards for selection. A Network Survey technician will be responsible for accurately updating databases, spreadsheets, and preparing reports.
Qualifications
· Strong PC skills with software such as, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
· Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills; the ability to directly interface with customers and general public; maintain a professional appearance; and work independently.
· Demonstrate the ability think logically and apply standards or criteria.
· Able to travel locally or nationally as much as 100% of the time to customer locations
· Must possess a valid driving license and clean DMV record
· Must possess a credit card and have sufficient credit to carry expenses up to 60 days.
Required Skills and Experience
· Associates degree, technical vocational degree, or equivalent work experience
· Analytical problem solving skills
· Good time management skills
· Work independently with minimal supervision
· Team player
Desired Experience
· Experience and knowledge of gas, water and electric utility meters and related technologies
· Experience with GIS mapping software such as MapInfo
· Experience with GPS and coordinate data
