Title: Senior Electrical Engineer — Mission Critical
Location: Addison, TX (Multiple U.S. locations)

POSITION PROFILE:
Our client seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong mission-critical experience to join their electrical engineering group. The ideal candidate will have broad electrical engineering expertise with a proven track record on large, complex mission-critical projects (data centers, critical facilities, or similar). This role is responsible for electrical system design and technical leadership from schematic design through construction administration, working collaboratively across disciplines and mentoring junior staff. The Senior Electrical Engineer will support project delivery, code compliance, analysis, and documentation while helping maintain project budgets and schedules.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead electrical system concepts and documentation from schematic design through construction administration.
- Provide technical design for primary electrical systems including power distribution, medium/low voltage interfaces, and standby power systems (generators, UPS).
- Develop lighting and controls design and coordinate lighting/layout requirements.
- Lead fire alarm system coordination and documentation as required.
- Prepare and edit specifications and technical reports.
- Perform energy conservation and sustainability-related technical writing and reporting.
- Serve as Project Discipline Team Leader on large or complex projects when assigned; direct and oversee project team members within the electrical discipline.
- Monitor and execute discipline compliance with project budgets and schedules.
- Prepare and maintain project status reports and Electrical Basis of Design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with discipline leaders and other project team members to develop man-hour estimates, project cost models, and design-to-budget approaches.
- Conduct product and material research and document code research and interpretations.
- Perform short circuit, selective coordination, and other power system calculations; utilize analytical modeling tools (EDSA, SKM, or equivalent) where applicable.
- Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and provide document interpretation during bidding and construction administration.
- Attend project meetings and respond to client inquiries in a timely manner.
- Mentor and monitor support engineers and technical staff; provide feedback to discipline leadership on staff performance.
- Participate in in-house training initiatives, professional organizations, and continuous improvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project and practice needs.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; professional licensure (PE) required.
- Minimum ~6 years’ experience in the A/E industry ; mission-critical/data-center experience strongly .
- Demonstrated experience across all phases of professional services from schematic design through project close-out.
- Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and integrate electrical design with architectural and MEP requirements.
- Proficiency in short-circuit and selective coordination calculations; experience with EDSA, SKM, or equivalent modeling software .
- Revit (BIM) experience required.
- LEED accreditation .
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational ability, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team-management skills; ability to delegate and motivate staff.
- Computer and CADD/BIM literate; comfortable with technical documentation and specification writing.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to perform effectively under deadline pressures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel to project sites for client, project, and construction meetings.
- Ability to access and inspect existing and new project sites for observation, investigation, and evaluation.
- Proficiency using communication and documentation equipment.
- Visual acuity sufficient for required responsibilities.
