Why This Role Matters

Every customer engagement begins with the quote — and in mission-critical electronics manufacturing, getting it right the first time is everything. As a Strategic Quoting Specialist, you'll be at the front end of the business pipeline, managing the full material quoting process that drives new business wins and supports existing program growth. Your ability to analyze bills of materials, source competitively, and deliver accurate, timely quotations will directly influence the company's ability to win and retain customers across aerospace, defense, medical, and data center markets.

This is a high-impact role where procurement strategy meets business development — where your sourcing precision and supplier relationships translate into real revenue and competitive advantage.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare, send, and monitor material quotations, ensuring all activities are completed within required deadlines
  • Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) to determine whether existing ERP inventory can be leveraged or if new supplier quotations are required
  • Assign approved suppliers within the web-based quoting platform and ensure sourcing alignment with company strategy
  • Interface directly with suppliers to answer questions, clarify technical details, and support accurate and timely quoting
  • Monitor and track the status of all quoted materials; proactively expedite outstanding or delayed quotations
  • Obtain competitive quotes from the supply base and analyze spend data to identify cost drivers, pricing trends, and savings opportunities
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing teams on supplier recommendations and cost strategies
  • Partner with Component Engineering to identify alternates for obsolete, long lead time, or constrained components

What You Bring

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 1–2 years of experience, OR Associate's degree with 3–5 years of experience
  • Ability to interpret bills of materials (BOMs) and understand cost implications from a sourcing and procurement perspective
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and align requirements with supplier capabilities
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with ERP systems used in procurement workflows
  • Strong computational and analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate quotes, assess spending data, and identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with internal teams and external suppliers
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to problem-solve issues involving multiple variables, limited standardization, and changing supply chain conditions
  • Ability to multitask effectively and adapt within a rapidly changing environment

Additional Experience & Skills

  • Experience working with electronic components, PCBAs, and mechanical assemblies
  • Background in an electronics manufacturing services (EMS) or contract manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and long-term procurement planning
  • Experience with web-based quoting platforms or procurement tools
  • Knowledge of component lifecycle management and supply chain risk mitigation
