Summary

A commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations for data center and mission-critical construction projects in the New York region, with emphasis around the Rochester area. The Superintendent will be responsible for directing field activities, managing subcontractors, coordinating complex mechanical/electrical work, and ensuring jobsite safety, quality, and schedule performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all onsite construction activities for data center and related commercial projects
• Manage subcontractors, field labor, materials, deliveries, and logistics
• Coordinate installation sequencing for mechanical, electrical, and specialty trades
• Enforce safety standards and conduct jobsite inspections
• Conduct daily huddles, review look-ahead plans, and maintain updated field schedules
• Communicate field status, progress, and issues to Project Management and leadership
• Ensure quality control across high-precision installations and mission-critical systems
• Manage documentation including daily reports, RFIs, submittals, photos, and logs
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and special certifications required for data center work

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Superintendent experience in commercial construction
• Demonstrated success overseeing complex projects involving mechanical/electrical systems
• Strong ability to read plans, specifications, and technical installation documents
• Experience coordinating multiple trades in tight sequencing environments
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with subcontractor teams
• Safety-first mindset and commitment to quality workmanship
• Proficiency in jobsite documentation and standard construction tools
• Ability to travel to projects throughout the New York region
