Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee commercial construction projects from start to finish. This role requires proven leadership in managing field operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in vertical commercial construction—including offices, education, healthcare, hospitality, retail, industrial, and similar sectors—with a clear, detailed project history that demonstrates their ability to deliver complex builds. Candidates with residential-only backgrounds will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all on-site construction activities, including scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and crew supervision.

  • Oversee and direct field operations for both self-perform and subcontracted work.

  • Maintain daily communication with foremen, trades, and subcontractors to ensure production goals are met.

  • Conduct weekly subcontractor and safety meetings, monitoring schedule compliance, quality control, and safety standards.

  • Review and manage RFIs, submittals, drawing updates, delays, and additional work requirements.

  • Partner closely with Project Managers and office staff to resolve issues, track costs, and keep projects on track.

  • Serve as the primary on-site representative with owners, inspectors, and public entities.

  • Implement effective strategies to deliver projects ahead of schedule and within budget.

  • Monitor self-perform productivity and track progress against budgets.

  • Support project closeout activities and ensure successful project handoff.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Superintendent experience with a Commercial General Contractor (required).

  • Demonstrated success managing mid- to large-scale vertical construction projects.

  • Strong ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors in complex environments.

  • Proficiency in project scheduling, coordination, and field reporting.

  • Experience with Procore or similar construction management software .

  • Knowledge of self-perform concrete and structural systems is highly desirable.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with project teams, clients, and subcontractors.
