Job Title: System Administrator

Reports To: Chief Information Officer

FLSA Status: Exempt

Minimum hours: 40 /week

Objectives for this role

  • Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
  • Take responsibility for projects and solutions within the larger business initiative
  • Oversee the credit union’s information systems, security system, ATM’s and telecommunications systems.

Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • SCFCU expects regular attendance and punctuality. This means being in the workplace, ready to work at your scheduled start time each day and completing your entire shift. Employees are also expected to return from scheduled meals and break periods on time.
  • Oversee and manage all phases of systems design, programming, networking, installation, including testing system corrections, of the Credit Union's information systems, security system, ATM’s and telecommunications systems.
  • Responsible for updates, enhancements, repairing and/or replacement of malfunctions within our system.
  • Work with the CIO setting the short- and long-term technology objectives while providing the management necessary to achieve revenue growth and other goals and objectives of the organization through technology.
  • Identify the strategic objectives and determine specific information requirements for management information services within all departments of the credit union.
  • Communicate those objectives to the staff of the operation.
  • Review and evaluate project feasibility studies based on management’s requirements, priorities, and cost constraints related to the Credit Union’s information systems, security system, ATM’s and telecommunications systems.
  • Research industry trends in technology and ensure that the credit union’s information system structure and equipment is adequate to meet member needs and strategic plan.
  • Ensure that information systems provide tools to satisfy external rules and regulations.
  • Implement the installation and operation of information systems. Implement and connect the equipment required to operate systems.
  • Manage security and safety for the credit union.
  • Provide vendor management and due diligence for the credit union.
  • Coordinate the development of the Web page. Responsible for daily maintenance, and information content of the Web site.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal and State rules and regulations. Ensure compliance with credit union policies and procedures.
  • Perform server administration tasks (ex: user/group, security permissions, group policies, print services); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly
  • Monitor data-center health using existing management tools, and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers when needed
  • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates; support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments
  • Maintain help desk and assist in troubleshooting to identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed
  • Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups – including after hours updates
  • Perform various other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • AS/AA Degree and 1-2 years’ experience or 5 years in a related field
