Overview
We are seeking a Mid-Level System Administrator to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating system workstations and servers (including web servers) to support critical business processing requirements. This role requires a strong background in Microsoft Windows and Active Directory environments, as well as experience with federal security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, to meet business processing requirements.
- Perform software installations and upgrades for operating systems and layered software packages.
- Schedule and maintain system upgrades in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensure workstation and server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
- Implement and maintain a schedule of system backups and database archive operations to ensure data/media recoverability.
- Develop and promote standard operating procedures for system administration.
- Conduct routine hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Maintain a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library with all supporting documentation.
- Evaluate, document, and manage NIST 800-53 control implementations and support system accreditation and authorization processes, including the FBI’s ATO processes.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Active Directory.
- Strong understanding of NIST 800 series publications and Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance.
- Certifications (one or more strongly ):
- Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- VMware Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Qualifications
- Experience with VMware vSphere 7.
- Experience with Cisco Networking.
- Hands-on experience with Dell server and SAN storage hardware.
- Familiarity with system accreditation and authorization, and the FBI’s Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
- Experience evaluating, documenting, and managing NIST 800-53 control implementations.
- Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools, such as RiskVision, Xacta, and JCAM.
