Area of responsibility

We secure an important part of the critical digital infrastructure in the public sector. In an increasingly complex threat landscape, network security is a central component for the reliable protection of our data and systems. Your tasks

  • Designing, implementing, and continuously optimizing zero trust access models to minimize the risk of unauthorized access
  • Designing, implementing, and operating web application firewalls
  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of security strategies for cloud environments.
  • Support other departments in the technical implementation of security policies and the identification of potential security vulnerabilities.
  • Create detailed security, operational, and deployment concepts that cover both technical and organizational aspects.

Your profile

  • Successfully completed university education (bachelor's degree, diploma) in the IT field or completed vocational training in the IT field or equivalent qualification (e.g., IT-specific qualification) or comparable practical experience of several years in the IT field
  • Several years of professional experience in the field of network security, with a particular focus on web application firewalls, cloud security, and zero trust concepts.
  • Experience in the creation and implementation of network security concepts.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTPS, DNS) and their security in modern network infrastructures.
  • Experience with current and established firewall technologies such as NGFW, application firewalls, and corresponding products such as Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, Check Point, or Cisco Firepower.
  • Proficient in BSI IT-Grundschutz (basic IT protection), the ISO/IEC 27001 standard, and other international security standards.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, especially in identifying and remedying security vulnerabilities in complex systems, as well as teamwork skills, strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and a structured and independent approach to work round off your profile.
