Position Overview: The Systems Administrator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Ecovyst’s IT systems infrastructure. This role ensures optimal functioning of hardware, operating systems, directory services, and other core functions. The administrator will coordinate with IT teams to maintain uptime, manage hardware inventory, and support infrastructure deployment across critical business systems.

What you will be doing:

  • Asset Management: Maintain accurate inventory and documentation for all data center components.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with vendors and service providers for scheduled maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Infrastructure Deployment: Support hardware upgrades, migrations, and new infrastructure rollouts.
  • Incident Response: Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and environmental issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure adherence to internal policies, industry standards, and audit requirements for data center operations.
  • Backups and Disaster Recovery: Manage and improve backup strategies for critical systems and data. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in case of system failures or emergencies.
  • Endpoint Management: Manage workstation imaging and patching environment.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; Associate degree with equivalent experience considered.
  • 5–7 years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure management.
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware, server operating systems, and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience managing enterprise level email environments, including DKIM, DMARC, and SPF principles
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud-hosted environments.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and physical security best practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (such as PowerShell or Python) to streamline operational tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting platforms to ensure optimal performance and rapid incident response.
  • Experience with enterprise patch management and client management platforms, i.e. SCCM, PDQDeploy, etc.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to operational excellence.
  • Proactive and resourceful in identifying and resolving issues before they impact business operations.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership for critical infrastructure.
  • Collaborative team player who communicates effectively across IT and business units.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and able to perform under pressure.
  • Continuous learner who embraces new technologies and best practices.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotations.
