QualificationsRequired QualificationsEducation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
    OR equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in systems administration within a Windows-based enterprise environment.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Windows Server & Active Directory
    • VMware virtualization
    • Backup solutions
    • Server monitoring and patching processes

Technical Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting
  • Understanding of storage, networking fundamentals, and security best practices
  • Ability to follow change management and operational procedures

Qualifications

  • Experience in a healthcare or regulated environment
  • Microsoft, VMware, or related industry certifications
  • Experience supporting hybrid or cloud-integrated environments (Azure AD / Microsoft 365)

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed in data center environments
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required

ResponsibilitiesJob SummaryThe Systems Administrator II serves as a key technical resource within TMH’s Infrastructure Operations team. This role is responsible for administering, maintaining, and supporting enterprise Windows server environments, virtualization platforms, storage, backups, and Microsoft 365 services to ensure high availability, security, and regulatory compliance. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently on assigned systems, and collaboration across IS and clinical support teams to maintain reliable hospital operations. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSystem Administration & Operations

  • Install, configure, maintain, and support Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Perform server provisioning, OS upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management in accordance with IS standards.
  • Administer virtualization platforms (primarily VMware) and assist with storage systems (SAN/NAS).
  • Support Microsoft 365 services including Azure AD, Exchange Online, and -related services. 

Monitoring, Incident Response & Troubleshooting

  • Monitor system performance, availability, and alerts using enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and outages; perform root-cause analysis and remediation.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as required.
  • Collaborate with Network, Database, Security, and Clinical Application teams during incident resolution.  

Backup, Recovery & Resiliency

  • Support enterprise backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Rubrik).
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation.
  • Ensure backup success, retention compliance, and recovery validation. 

Security, Compliance & Documentation

  • Implement security best practices and comply with TMH IS policies and healthcare regulations (HIPAA).
  • Apply vulnerability remediation, encryption standards, and access controls.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, configurations, and procedures.
  • Participate in audits and compliance reviews as required.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with senior administrators and engineers on infrastructure projects and improvements.
  • Assist in automation efforts using scripting tools (PowerShell) to reduce manual effort.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior staff and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
