Talent Coordinator

\n

Location: Roanoke, VA (On-site)

Position Summary

\n

Virginia Transformer is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Talent Coordinator to support the full employee lifecycle by coordinating recruiting operations, onboarding, , background screening, candidate experience, and employee travel. This role serves as a key partner to the Talent Acquisition team, hiring managers, and Human Resources to ensure a seamless experience for candidates and new hires while maintaining efficient recruiting and onboarding processes.

Key Responsibilities

\n

Recruiting Coordination

\n

    \n
  • Coordinate interview schedules between candidates, hiring managers, and recruiters.
  • \n

  • Maintain applicant tracking system (ATS) data and ensure candidate records remain accurate and up to date.
  • \n

  • Assist recruiters with job postings, candidate communications, and interview logistics.
  • \n

  • Support sourcing initiatives and recruiting events as needed.
  • \n

  • Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation.
  • \n

  • Monitor recruiting activity and provide status updates to recruiters and hiring managers.
  • \n

\n

Pre-Employment & Background Screening

\n

  • Coordinate pre-employment background checks, drug screens, and employment verification.
  • \n

  • Monitor completion of pre-employment requirements and follow up with candidates and vendors as necessary.
  • \n

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment regulations.
  • \n

  • Maintain confidentiality of candidate and employee information.
  • \n

New Hire Onboarding &

  • Coordinate all new hire onboarding activities.
  • \n

  • Facilitate new employee and welcome sessions.
  • \n

  • Prepare onboarding materials, welcome packets, and new hire documentation.
  • \n

  • Coordinate with IT, Facilities, Payroll, Benefits, Security, and department leaders to ensure employees are fully prepared for their first day.
  • \n

  • Track completion of onboarding tasks and required training.
  • \n

\n

Employee Experience

\n

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for new employees during the onboarding process.
  • \n

  • Promote a positive and engaging new hire experience.
  • \n

  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and onboarding feedback.
  • \n

  • Support continuous improvement of onboarding and employee experience processes.
  • \n

\n

Employee Travel Coordination

\n

    \n
  • Arrange domestic travel for new hires, internal employees, and candidates as required.
  • \n

  • Coordinate airfare, hotels, rental vehicles, and travel itineraries.
  • \n

  • Ensure travel complies with company policies and budget guidelines.
  • \n

  • Serve as the primary contact for travel-related questions and scheduling changes.
  • \n

\n

Administrative Support

\n

  • Maintain recruiting, onboarding, and reports and metrics.
  • \n

  • Assist with HR and Talent Acquisition projects.
  • \n

  • Maintain accurate electronic personnel and recruiting files.
  • \n

  • Support compliance initiatives and audit requests.
  • \n

  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and enhance the candidate and employee experience.
  • \n

Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field .
  • \n

  • 2+ years of experience in recruiting coordination, HR administration, talent acquisition, or employee onboarding.
  • \n

  • Experience coordinating interviews, orientations, and onboarding activities .
  • \n

  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS, or recruiting software .
  • \n

  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • \n

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • \n

  • High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.
  • \n

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • \n

\n

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting recruiting within manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • \n

  • Familiarity with background screening and pre-employment processes.
  • \n

  • Experience coordinating employee travel.
  • \n

  • Knowledge of onboarding best practices and employee engagement initiatives.
