Job Title: Data Center / Tech Support Technician (Infrastructure Install)
Company: Russell Tobin (supporting a leading cloud technology client)
Location: New Albany, OH (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $22–$25/hour (based on experience)
Employment Type: 3-month W2 contract with possible extension
Shift Details
- Schedule: 4 days x 10-hour shifts
- Hours: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Options:

- Sunday – Wednesday (Front Half)
- Wednesday – Saturday (Back Half)
- Must be available to work holidays
Position Overview
We are seeking a Data Center / Infrastructure Install Technician to support a high-performance cloud and data center environment. This role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, networking equipment, and structured cabling systems.
You will play a key role in supporting day-to-day data center operations, working with cutting-edge infrastructure technologies, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of next- networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, and troubleshoot copper and fiber cabling (including patch panels and patch cords)
- Perform physical installation of servers, racks, and networking equipment
- Partner with vendors and internal teams on cabling and infrastructure projects
- Maintain and manage infrastructure inventory levels
- Ensure all installations meet data center standards and best practices
- Track and update work through ticketing systems, status reports, and communication tools
- Troubleshoot hardware and network issues across servers, switches, and related equipment
- Assist with moving and staging equipment within the data center
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and issues identified
- Support ongoing data center operations, including after-hours work as needed
Required Qualifications
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, servers, and networking equipment
- Experience or familiarity with structured cabling (fiber and copper )
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow processes and maintain detailed documentation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Willingness to learn new technologies in a fast-paced setting
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs individually and participate in team lifts for heavier equipment
- Comfortable working in a data center environment (including ladders and varying terrain)
- Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment with potential after-hours support

- This is an onsite role based in New Albany, OH
- Candidates must be able to work on-site and meet all access requirements
