Job Description:
- Assist with the creation and management of training programs in three key areas: Learning Resources, Content and Curriculum Development, and Learning Platform Operations.
- Partner with Director to establish performance objectives for staff and track progress.
- Identify subject matter experts to develop content and design education exercises.
- Recommend appropriate delivery methods to optimize knowledge transfer.
- Develop strong relationships with business partners, managers, consultants, and trainers.
- Assess third-party training programs and audit trainers on their delivery skills.
- Monitor course and training resource utilization to ensure that department needs are being met.
- Remain up-to-date on learning industry trends, methodologies, and best practices, and apply them effectively.
- Manage communication and marketing plans for new courses and training updates.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
- Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
- Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and related teams.
- Work within broad guidelines and policies.
- Explain difficult or sensitive information clearly and effectively.
- Deliver technical training and hands-on instruction related to telecom and data center infrastructure environments.
- Support curriculum development focused on structured cabling, fiber optics, rack & stack deployments, low-voltage systems, and testing methodologies.
- Mentor and train field technicians on installation standards, safety practices, troubleshooting techniques, and best practices in commercial data center environments.
- Conduct hands-on demonstrations and technical workshops involving fiber termination/splicing, OTDR testing, Fluke testing, and physical infrastructure installations.
- Evaluate technical skill gaps and recommend training improvements for telecom and data center field teams.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5–8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Strong organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
- Sophisticated math skills including the ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
Must-Have Technical Skills:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Structured Cabling in commercial or data center environments.
- 4+ years of experience with Fiber Installation, Termination, and Splicing (single-mode and multi-mode fiber).
- 4+ years of experience with Rack & Stack / Physical Hardware Installations.
- 5+ years of experience with Low-Voltage Cabling systems and infrastructure.
- 3+ years of experience performing OTDR and Fluke Testing for certification and troubleshooting.
- 4+ years of experience working in Commercial Data Center Environments.
- Recent hands-on Telecom/Data Center Field Experience required.
- Prior experience leading, mentoring, coaching, or training technicians and field teams required.
